Tired of the Same Failed Dating Experiences?

It’s easy to get stuck in a dating rut. Now that you’re a bit older (and wiser) and you know exactly who it is you’re looking for it can be very easy to get stuck in a never-ending dating loop. Does it seem like you’re meeting the same people over and over again? If dating is starting to lose the ‘fun factor’, I can help!  I’m not some dating coach or “pickup expert”. Far from it – I’m just a regular guy – the type you’d meet on a first date, with one key difference. I’m willing to share with you all of the crazy behaviors and thoughts that men do and think while dating BEFORE we meet! I went on over 100 dates as a single parent after my divorce and I can honestly say I’ve been there, done that, got the t-shirt!

I’ve been on crazy dates that ended with tears and the police being called.

I’ve met stalkers that wouldn’t leave me alone and people that just disappeared off the face of the earth.

I’ve left a first or second dating floating on cloud nine only to be mercilessly disappointed on the next date and left wondering, “What is wrong with my picker?!

Are You Tired of “The Dating Game”?

I know what it’s like, because I’ve been there before, too. I found myself single and alone after being in a relationship that lasted just over 10 years. Starting over can be very tough and when you throw your responsibilities of being a parent into the mix, it can be enough to make you want to give up on dating. I’m willing to bet we have a few things in common. I hadn’t even thought about dating in over a decade – how in the heck was I going to survive back out in the dating world? My dating experience was very rocky at first, but yours doesn’t have to be.

You can learn from my mistakes!

My book details the do’s and don’ts of dating from a (real) man’s perspective. I’ll tell you the truth about how men think, why men behave the way they do (hey, I made some mistakes too!) and what you can do to succeed in dating.

About Memoirs of a Dating Dad

Single DadMemoirs of a Dating Dad is no how-to guide for the dating inept or one of those cheesy pick-up artist books that guarantees you go on a hundred dates after you finish reading. Memoirs of a Dating Dad is a ‘dating rules book’ of sorts, written for singles from the perspective of a single dad. But it’s much more than that, too. It’s a book that examines the challenges all daters face out in the real world as a more mature 30, 40 or 50-something adult.

Believe me, the game has changed!

After the failure of my marriage and subsequent divorce, I found myself thrown back into the intimidating and rather shallow dating sea. The book offers personal accounts, insights and observations about what really goes on in the dating world.

Sometimes crazy, sometimes meaningful, always insightful – all of my experiences in dating as a single dad taught me some very valuable life lessons. Part dating memoir, part how (not) to guide, Memoirs of a Dating Dad is ten chapters of hilarity, sadness, anticipation and disappointment – all of the feelings and emotions that are inevitable when dating in today’s jungle.

The book Memoirs of a Dating Dad was my own personal project for over two years, with dating experiences spanning more than five years during my early to mid 30′s. After more than a few less-than-inspired dating experiences, I decided to put pen to paper. “One thing led to another” and before I knew it, Memoirs of a Dating Dad began to materialize. Join me in my [mis]adventures as I recount some of my favorite (and least favorite) dating experiences and the tough dating (and life) lessons learned from each.

Memoirs of a Dating Dad Isn’t Just For Single Parents!

We all know what’s happening to the divorce rate in the US, but did you know that in 2004 the percentage of births to single moms was 36%? That means that more than 1 in every 3 children were born into a single parent relationship. That number has gone up since then, and when you consider all of the divorced parents going back into the single’s scene, along with those that were never married, the chances of you meeting and dating a single parent are pretty good! Memoirs of a Dating Dad offers real-life dating experiences, humorous stories, candid observations and dating tips for anyone in the dating world. You’ll come to find dating a single parent is a completely different experience and one that can be very fulfilling and rewarding if done right!

Why go it alone, though? For less than the cost of a coffee date, I will entertain and inform you about how to avoid some of the mistakes I made as a single in my 30′s and point you in the direction of finding the one you’re meant to be with.

My Story Has a Happy Ending

Happy Couple BWAll of those crazy dating experiences, mistakes and lessons learned paid off in the end for me, but it wasn’t after some trying times. In early 2010 I had all but thrown in the towel in dating. I was so frustrated with all of the games, the drama, the lies and the disappointment. I was ready to find the one that I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. After struggling to meet someone – the right one – for me, for nearly five years, I finally met Jen just after Valentine’s Day, 2010. We were engaged in November, 2011 with a wedding date set for the spring of 2013. I’m living proof that there is life after divorce and that when you date smarter, not harder love will come your way!
